Writing with Words

Writing with words is pass yet

We continue to use words, when

Words are pathetic in joy

And death, and love and hate

And all human endeavors, but

We are stuck with words, because

People can't see our hearts.

Our words hide who we are.

Writing with words is pass yet

What else do we have, when

Our faces, taught to lie,

Show feelings off-center, to hide ourselves.

Show emotions expected, rather than

Emotions felt, raw and true.

Raw and true feelings are hidden even to us.

Our words hide who we are.

Writing with words is pass yet

We think we do, we do think that

We do feel that, yet far from truth are we.

We really don't know what our words say

To us or to others our truths are hidden.

Writing with words is pass yet

What else can we do?
