I had dreams when I was younger
Of having a Perfect Valentine of my own.
We would do everything together, always be in harmony.
Gads, the foolish dreams of youth - and they were foolish.
Only time has shown that there is nothing perfect in
Relationships - that is nothing but fool's gold.
And yet, I wonder - because I have heard -
That there are such romances that survive;
Even for decades. Can it be true?
Loneliness only protects those who do not want
To take a chance on love. Could it happen at my age?
I long to have that in my life, but I am so afraid to put myself out there.
To have not a Perfect Valentine, but a human one,
Someone to share my hopes and fears, my joys and sorrows.
If only there was one for me.
Feeling sentimental? Memories of past loving relationships and future hopes blend well this time of year.
Write a short story or poem about discovering the perfect Valentine. What is it? What makes it special? Is it a one time use thing or brought out and displayed year after loving year?
Make one of the genre Love/Romance.
