My Norwegian blue eyes
Along with other Scandinavian traits
Being part Basque, Danish, Dutch, Finnish,
French, Italian, Jewish, Mongolian, Russian,
Spanish and Ukrainian.

My Mother’s family
Inheriting my Irish personality

With Cherokee (although missing from the DNA database,
Being part of the lost tribe of the Cherokee Nation)
English, Irish, Scotch-Irish, and Nigerian roots
Further entangled in my family’s tangled bloodlines.

Someday soon
I will do a Euro tour
And make sure
I visit the Netherlands
