Reading books can take you many places. Free verse

I like to become a part in my books sometime.
There I can go to places in my mind and blend
in a celebration in an English castle during a beautiful spring day.
If I felt adventurous I might jump into
a future time and travel in spaceships
that make history by meeting aliens.
I could meet someone like the brilliant captain.
But most of all I would like to go back to
visit my ancestors during the last 100 years.
One ancestor was in a famous battle.
There would be tense moments where
I would be helping win a war.
But then there would be time that I would
have to come back to reality.
I could put the book away for another time
and only hope that I could pick up feelings
where I left off and be the person I never was.
