He got ready
Put a carnation
On his lapel.

Checking the clock
It was time
To hit the night.

He felt a weird sense
In the air
A scent of the end times.

Bad craziness hung
In the air
All week long.

There were rumors
Of the impending arrival
Of an alien fleet.

The catastrophe
Occurred at midnight.

The power went out
All over the world
The aliens had arrived
End-of-the world
As we knew it.

The lost denizens
of the Cosmos Bar
Continued to drink

The night away.
In Bangkok
The City of lost angels.
