31 Days of Halloween day 10 and 11 |
When I was five years old and we had just moved into the house in Oklahoma where my mom still lives, I saw a ghost in our upstairs hallway. It was near my parents' bedroom and it was a girl who was wearing an old- fashioned brown dress and had long brown hair. This was back in 1972. It was dark upstairs so I convinced myself I was just seeing things. I never told anyone until one Thanksgiving a few years ago when me and one of my sisters were talking. Somehow the subject got around to ghost stories. I mentioned I saw a ghost once in our parents' house and I said it was a girl but didn't say what she looked like. She said she had seen a ghost there too and I asked her what the ghost she saw looked like. She said her ghost had brown hair that was pulled back in a braid, and was holding what could have been a candle. After that I told her my ghost had brown hair as well. Frankly we were both a little shocked. I knew then we had possibly seen the same ghost. All those years I thought I had imagined it and now I had confirmation that there was indeed something there. And the thing is, most of us have heard the stories of people seeing ghosts who are milky and see-through, or apparitions with transparent bodies. But this was not the case for me and my sister. And if it had just been me that thought I had seen a ghost I would have probably kept dismissing it. Spirits are going to show up the way they want; sometimes they look like a person, or they can also appear as an orb. Spirits don't have bodies so they can appear any way they wish to. It could have been either the same ghost or sister ghosts.I don't know who the spirit(s) was/ were but I have a hunch they were from pioneer days and used to live on that land. In any case, it is one of the many things that convince me there is an afterlife. A Spirit I am just a spirit coming for a visit I've shed my skin but I'm just dropping in To let you know I once was here please do not fear I'm from another dimension it's beyond comprehension I know Seeing a ghost isn't what you planned but sometimes the most real things are things we can't understand. |
