A poem about one of the dragons I adopted at The Dragon Vale
Whistler

I bought a nest with a Dragon's Egg

It was a shock to me too

Especially when things happened

Like her beginning to talk to me

She is a girl, her name is Whistler

Because her wings make a joyful sound

Like music or laughter when she flies

I have seen her in my head

Her eyes sparkle like stars at night

setting a fire was our intention,
but not to the living room chair,
it was kind of funny at first
before all that smoke filled the air.

I had setbacks of my own...
my pain in my limbs was unbearable
the symbiotic relationship we built
made it a bit more shareable.

Her sound was sweet and low
not like a dragon at all
when you hear it coming to you
you don't expect someone so tall
