Life as a river finding love or piece either personal or spiritual. |
The memories flow as rushing water Turbulent and foaming seeking and unknowing Each bend shows erosion marking the passing time In places seasons of wasted weeds grow Yet, in the calm water is where I find you Early storms caused swells I watched as Mom cried These moments rock me to my core Learning right from wrong Later learning I created my own Crossing rapids and speeding through shallows Sometimes I did so the hard way As I witnessed the destruction created in my wake And, then comes the calm waters This is where I find you The rush of memories continue to flow Sometimes broken or incomplete The stories get confused As faces and places fade downstream Again, in the calm waters is where I find you As the jagged edges of pain are worn smooth Fading memories of youth proving age isn't kind Struggling forward nothing is the same Knowing rapids are the norm of change I know in the calm waters after I'll find you |
