Just something I found in my unfinished pile & decided to finish.

Let’s save a moment
just for us
in the spaces between times
when you’re not hers
and I’m not his
and we can belong to each other

Let’s turn our thoughts to each other
on the other side of those moments
when she’s asleep next to you
and he’s dozing next to me
so our sleep is filled with
dreams of one another

Let’s hold our shared memories
during those quiet moments of pause
when you’re somewhere
waiting for her
and I’m somewhere else
waiting for him
and make new ones
of just us
of me and you, together
Of all the things we should have had
and should have been
to each other
