Can I Be Close to You?

Story outline:

Two people, a man and a woman, find each other after responding to a call to volunteer to help stray animals get to the shelter. One dog in particular, a shy terrier, finds love from the two people and each person debates if the dog would do better with one or the other. THe man, he finds the woman attractive. SHe's a unique beauty, not your common looker. The man, easily forgotten for his looks, reveals his inner enigmatic self to the woman in his insistent outburst to adopt the terrier. Then, in a flash of kindness, the woman lets the man adopt the dog but extracts a promise of visitation to take care of the terrier. Their exchange of care of the dog lead to a growing appreciation for their inner beauties, for their looks are ordinary. Their relationship grows as the terrier grows into adulthood. The story ends with the man proposing to have the couple have an extraordinary living arrangement just to keep tabs of the terrier and to care and play with the dog.
