Is patriotism lost?

work reflecting pain, loss and gain

Freedom comes at a price, some don't realize,
Men and women have died to keep our patriotism intact.
Those who accept the Liberty but will still despise
The efforts of the people who have been attacked.
I say, "Leave" to all who would stand to gain,
but not respect the ones who to this day are wracked
with the pain of disrespect and others' disdain.
