Snow makes me think of cold, dark days
high heating bills, airport delays
few signs of green, just browns and grays--
winter malaise, winter malaise.
The sun brings thoughts of bright, warm rays
open windows, outdoor cafés
lush green meadows where cattle graze--
summer bouquets, summer bouquets.

Written for The Writer's Cramp - Poetry Week (5 January 2025)
Prompt: Write a monotetra using the words snow and sun.
Information about the monotetra form:
-The monotetra's stanza has a mono-rhyme scheme in each stanza.
-It has four lines per stanza and eight syllables per line.
-In the last line, four syllables are repeated, like an echo, to make it look like a little refrain.
-The monotetra can be as long as you like but has to have at least two stanzas.
-The name of this form comes from the fact that the stanzas are mono-rhymed and written in tetrameter. Notice that each stanza can have a different rhyme, but all four lines within each stanza must rhyme.
