A Grokster Suess style story about the Care Bears |
In a land where the clouds were as soft as a dream, Where rainbows would sparkle and giggle and gleam, Lived the Care Bears, those fluffiest friends of the air, With tummies that glowed with a magical flare. There was Love-a-Lot Bear with her hearts all a-twirl, And Funshine, who danced with a sunbeam’s bright curl. Grumpy Bear grumbled, but cared deep inside, While Tenderheart led with his warm, hopeful stride. One morning in Care-a-Lot, high in the blue, A Whozit-Whuzzit breeze whistled and blew. It tickled their noses, it ruffled their fur, And whispered a worry that caused quite a stir. “Oh me, oh my!” cried Cheer Bear, all pink, “This breeze feels so chilly, it’s making me think! Somewhere, someone’s heart is as cold as a stone, And they need our caring to not feel alone!” The Care Bears all gathered in Cloudsquare Square, Their tummies a-glow with a colorful flare. “We’ll find this sad soul!” said Brave Heart, so bold. “We’ll warm up their heart with a hug to unfold!” So they hopped in their Cloud Car, all fluffy and bright, And zoomed through the sky with a trail of starlight. Over Whimble-Wham Hills, past Zizzle-Zee Sea, To a town called Grumble-Gloom, dreary as could be. In Grumble-Gloom Town, where the frowns grew like weeds, Lived a boy named No-Heart Ned, with no caring needs. He’d scowl at the sunshine, he’d huff at the breeze, And say, “I don’t need love—bah, humbug, oh please!” The Care Bears descended with giggles and cheer, Their tummies all sparkling, their mission so clear. But Ned crossed his arms and he gave a big snort, “I don’t want your rainbows—go back to your fort!” “Oh, Ned,” said Tenderheart, soft as a sigh, “Caring’s like starlight—it lights up the sky! You don’t have to frown, you don’t have to gloom, Let’s plant a small seed where your heart can bloom.” But Ned just said, “Pfft!” and he stomped on his way, To his house full of shadows, where kindness won’t stay. The Care Bears, undaunted, hatched a Whozit-y plan, To show Ned that caring’s the best thing they can. Love-a-Lot sprinkled hearts on his rickety gate, While Funshine made sunbeams to brighten his plate. Cheer Bear hung rainbows where gloom used to creep, And Bedtime Bear hummed till his grumbles fell asleep. Grumpy Bear, grumbling, said, “This might not work, This Ned’s heart’s as stubborn as a Zizzle-Zee Turk!” But Secret Bear whispered, “Just wait and you’ll see, A small spark of care grows as big as a tree.” The next morning, Ned woke to a marvelous sight— His house glowed with colors, all sparkly and bright! He peeked out his window, his frown turned askew, For the Care Bears were singing a song just for YOU! “We care, oh we care, wherever you roam, With a hug and a smile, you’re never alone! Your heart’s like a star, let it shimmer, let it shine, Join the Care Bear family—it’s love’s own design!” Ned’s scowl wobbled once, then it wobbled some more, Till a laugh burst right out like a wave on the shore. “I… I feel it!” he cried, with a hop and a skip, “My heart’s growing warm like a Whozit-Whuzzit dip!” The Care Bears all cheered with a great big group hug, And Ned joined their dance, feeling cozy as a bug. Back to Care-a-Lot, they all flew with delight, With Ned’s heart now glowing like stars in the night. So if ever your heart feels a Whozit-Whuzzit chill, Look up to the clouds where the Care Bears live still. Their tummies will sparkle, their love will come through, For the Care Bears are caring—especially for YOU! |
