a poem about a rose

ROSE

I prickle my fingers on your beauty.
The price I have to pay for choosing you.
I’m bleeding profusely,
As I wrapped my arms around you.

How can something so pretty,
Turn out to be so lethal?
Your love is deadly
Shards of metals.

All the love I have pours out,
But I am not letting go.
For when all that I am is out,
You will shine and glow.

Your roots grow within me,
Invading my body and soul,
Filling what is empty,
And making me whole.
