Two young boys share a secret moment

Tommy snickered as they looked at the magazine. His older brother, Vince, smiled indulgently. "Knock it off, goofball. They're just pictures."

"Man, I wish I could see that in person!"

Vice raised his eyebrows, trying to look worldly. "Little brother, let me tell you a secret: I have seen them. Seen one, anyway. Up close, almost close enough to touch."

Tommy's voice was awed. "Wow... What was it like?"

It was Vince's turn to sound awed. "It was...I'll tell ya the truth, little brother: it was kinda scary. Like, I wasn't sure what to do." He looked away.

They turned the page: a full page photograph, high resolution, every curve and shade defined exquisitely. Both boys let out a longing sigh.

"Boys?" Their mother's voice called out from the top of the steps.

"Quick," whispered Vince urgently. “Hide it where nobody will find it.” He quickly tapped a couple of keys to close his computer screen, and Tommy slid the magazine under his bottom and out of sight.

Their mother opened the door and leaned in. "I haven't heard you two trying to kill each other, for a change. You want to come down for a snack?"

"Nope!" they said in suspicious unison.

Their mother smiled. "Well, whatever you two are up to, when you're done, I've got cookies downstairs."

In the room, Tommy pulled the magazine back out, eyeing the cover wistfully. Guns and Ammo: Special Edition - Automatics. Vince grinned as Tommy ogled the Tech-9 with hollow-point rounds.

"Wanna see something really cool?" He open the windows back up on his computer and showed Tommy the website: "Supreme Power of the White Race: Taking Back the Nation By Force!"

Outside the door, their mother heard Vince teaching Tommy something, and she smiled at how innocent her babies still were.
