deep within and not listen
to mouthed hypocracies.

Learning to listen
with ears that hear deep
not just what surface platitudes say,
with a mind that deciphers
between projections and reality.

Learning to take time
to know there are differences
between reality and spun fairy tale,
to understand that life isn't always
written for happy endings.

Learning to choose
between the individual pieces of a puzzle
and the picture portrayed when complete,
what's right and fair and good
for the long run, rather than a sprint.

We set our own trajectories
setting the bar high or to the right,
aiming for what we want and need:
both eyes open and setting our sight.
