How can I have fun or even go to class?” His mother, Lydia, sat pretending to look through a fashion portfolio while wearing a designer sun dress. “Give it about five minutes I have interviewed and alternative. The door to the study opened and in walked a short girl about 5’3 in a charcoal pencil skirt black heels a beige blouse, her hair up in a messy bun, honey balayage streaked through her hair and a light neutral gloss on her lips. Julian froze, “You got me a Japanese model?” Seo-Jin Kim walked towards him with a smile. “Close but I’m not from an island. I’m Korean.” She said with a slight accent. “Is this like a PR stunt?” Julian asked. “No Kim seo-Jin is an expert in covert protection operations.” Lydia replied. “she’s very sought after for her discretion” “I don’t see how having a model is discreet.” Julian countered. Kim stopped and bowed to him. “That’s funny you didn’t think I was a model this morning.” Julian looks confused for a moment then realization dawns on him. “The coffee shop.” He says remembering the pretty girl that’d reached for a coffee set the same time he did. “You do remember.” Kim says smoothly. “See she’ll be much better than,” she motions to Merrick, “That thing.” Merrick just grunted. He preferred to be given a target to focus on anyway. “Can she even fight?” Julian asks eyes her. “yes I can fight.” Kim replied. “I mean it looks like Merrick here could easily pick you up and” *Julian said while motioning merrick determined to try and have no bodyguards. “Don’t” Kim said sharply. Merrick stepped forward reaching for her and the purse dropped she had his wrist a quick twist, in step, hip and Merrick sailed through the air and landed on the plush carpet. Charles desk jumped from the impact. “This is why I said don’t.” Kim said straightening up and smoothing her attire. “See she’ll blends, she’s pretty and she took down a tank without messing up her outfit. She’s perfect. Julian stands stunned. “How did you do that? That isn’t possible.” Kim smile returned to her face. “I’m trained in hapkido it’s about using your opponent’s size and strength against them.” She says with a smile. Later that day Julian is falling into his seat at a table with his life long friend Lucas Drey and his first roommate and now close friend Ethan Plaitt. Ethan was the weird one in their trio. He was a middle class scholarship student while he and Lucas were old money whose dads were friends. Lucas barely glanced up while Ethan pushed an iced coffee to him. Julian took it without saying thank you. Instead he groaned while rubbing his head. “My dad has officially lost his mind.” Julian complained. Lucas looked up with a quirked brow. “Auctioned you off again huh?” Ethan looked between the two blinking. “Wait? That’s a real thing?” |
