The resentment of the guilt I carry

I carry the echoes of words unsaid,
Moments lost in the tangle of my head.
A daughter’s love I sometimes failed to show,
A mother’s hand I let wander, let go.

The nights are heavy with what I should’ve done,
Chasing shadows of a past I can’t outrun.
Regret drips like rain on fragile skin,
Each drop a reminder of where I’ve been.

Yet still I breathe, still I try, still I mend,
Though the road twists and breaks, it can bend.
I am flawed, I am human, I am still here,
Haunted by guilt, but learning to steer.
