A poem about the carefree, innocent life of a child |
| The Blue-eyed Girl
Curly locks and dimpled cheek Happy, playful, quiet and meek Sun glistens in her light brown hair She lives each day without a care The new day holds a brand new thrill Of flying kites or sledding hills Dressing dolls and serving tea Riding bikes or climbing trees Building igloos and a big snowman Or making castles in the sand She gazes up on starry nights As her youth is in its flight Thoughts of God in clear blue skies Or watching puffy clouds go by She loves her school and recess time Lollipops and Valentines Each night she dreams upon her bed Of new adventures just ahead Carefree heart so tender still Each day she tarries where she will Oh, little girl with eyes of blue Where will her path of life lead to? Her youthful days will soon be past May her happiness a lifetime last © 1998 Sharon Lee |
