My thoughts on reviewing.

Thanks for coming by. =o) I guess the first thing I need to explain is that my thoughts on reviewing are just that, my thoughts. I'm not saying anyone else is wrong. So, here's what I think.

When I write, I write feelings. I take my feelings or think from the perspective of another person and I just write. Sometimes I am writing to help myself, sometimes I write to make people think. The thing that ties all of my stuff together is that it comes from within. I don't worry about meter, rhyme, or any "rules" for writing.

So, this is how I rate and review. I think about how it made me feel. If a poem isn't invoking feelings, then I try not to rate it because I don't feel like I know enough about the rules to say anything. What I want when someone reviews me is the same thing. I don't care about my use of the rules (I'm a rebel I guess =o). Sometimes I follow them (completely by accident) and sometimes I don't.

It doesn't matter to me because what I put out there for people to read comes from within and you can't place rules on that. I really appreciate everyone who reads my work but if you can't tell me something real about how it makes you feel, then I don't want to hear it.

If it made you hate me, tell me! It's a valid feeling! If you think that its the worst crap you've ever seen, tell me! But please tell me why, unless it deals with rules.

I love hearing from you guys and I love reviewing your work but in order for me to continue writing, the feedback I need is about feelings. I know I am repeating myself here but I don't think some people understand what I am saying. Maybe they just don't care, and that's ok too but I want the ones who want to understand to do just that.

I don't expect you to review everyone's work with feelings because that's not what every writer needs. Some need you to tell them about the rules and there isn't anything wrong with that, its just not right for me.

So I guess that's it. My five cents worth on reviewing in a nutshell. Like it, love it, hate it, ignore it. I don't care but if you ignore it when reviewing my work, I will ignore your review. =o/

I really love it here in stories.com and you guys are totally awesome. I will be around for a long time and I promise to not be bitchy too often. =o)

Thanks to everyone in the stories.com community for their support and I look forward to reading and reviewing with you in the future. =o)
