a sad lesson to learn.
A place of on going sibling rivalry was our house.
Until one sharp tragedy silenced it like a stiff decaying mouse.

Mom did'nt have to go for that car ride,
guess she could'nt stand the constant bickering inside.

Peeling out of the driveway and speeding down the street,
seems mom knew what fate she would meet.

Eyes stinging with tears, her darkest fears, will my children ever get along?

If only we could have seen, that all our fighting
was petty and just so insanely wrong!

We heard the ambulance whizzing by,
blazing light and siren,

With heavy hearts we held hands and hoped we didn't know what this would mean.

Ten minutes later, a knock on our door,
before us stood two officers looking sadly toward the floor.

We have some bad news they said, it appears your mother's car crashed, she is dead.

Witnesses said, hands together, she started to pray,
then steered her car into Stillwaters bay.

Guess mom found some silence that day.

The funeral was peaceful, quite, and serene,
mom looked so beautiful in her dress of peaches and cream.

That day between us, with words unspoken,
we finally understood, that we could never be broken.

Love in our hearts, empathy toward one another, this was the wish of our dear sweet mother.

Grown up now and close as could be,
we share our thoughts, our laughter, and harmony.

Never forget the importance of family.
