My heart awakened at the first e-mail
It danced after our first phone call
Love awoke from its sleep
And reached out for you.


The love in your heart and mine met
Face to face, heart to heart, mind to mind.
I asked for forever love
And God gave me you.


I love and cherish each printed word,
Each whisper made over the phone,
And, finally, real live visits
Just make my heart sing!


My mind and heart and soul imagine
Us, walking together in daisy fields
Then emerging to tell the world
Of God’s love, of God’s plans fulfilled.
