"My Daddy killed a child tonight, but did not take a life..." |
| My Daddy killed a child tonight but did not take a life. The child gave in without a fight to words used as a knife. He came into her room at night and sat beside her bed “I’m just your Daddy, it’s alright-” such lies my Daddy said. The man who held the child’s trust then killed her with a touch. And all to satisfy his lust, the child he loved so much. My Daddy killed the child in me- my shameful secret kept. My innocence is dead, you see, and I, a woman, wept.
