A Naga Uta Poetry written for Roobear's Advanced Poetry Workshop!
The Tortoise and The Vixen

Tammy the tortoise
Lived lazily in his hole
Eating the green leaves;
Elle, the cunning young vixen,
Eyed him for his meat
And daily came to his home;
The tortoise knew not
That Elle wanted to eat him -
He lazed about as
Was his everyday routine,
Munching happily,
On the tasty crunchy leaves,
Elle popped her head in
To see the fat, grey tortoise,
And said: Hello there!
How are you,my little friend?
Tammy said, Fine thanks ...
The vixen jumped on the poor
sweet Tammy and ate him up.

Author's note: This is a Naga Uta format for poetry. As Bianca Boonstra explains in (entry:246214}, it is a Japanese form of poetry, now used to tell stories; the pattern of syllables is 5/7/5/7/5/...5/7/7. There is no limit on the length; no rhyming is needed. A complete story must be told.
