Releasing writer's block

There are times in which even a writer such as myself has a hard time writing. There are things that can be done though that may release your writer's block.

The first thing you can do is write with a different pencil or pen, maybe in a different color. This releases a creative feature that may be found in the recesses of your brain.

The second thing you can do is change the color or texture of the paper you use. I find sometimes just changing the color is all I need to establish a new form of creativity inside me that has been hidden for awhile. If I am using a computer there are some programs that allow for changes in the color of the screen from which you are writing on. Texture is another thing that can be changed in paper. Try different things like construction paper or lined paper.

The place in which one writes establishes a profound impact in getting through writer's block. Some places are more apt to get one to write than others. Some people find that they need a nice quiet clean room to write others, like myself need background noise but left alone. I need not have a absolutely clean environment. My own surroundings don't really matter to me and if it did then I would never write because I would constantly need to clean up after my family and get nothing done.

When I am not writing on my computer using my keyboard I love to write with my purple medium point pen using a spiral notebook. The kind of pen has everything to do with releasing my creativity. The spiral notebook allows me to keep things in a neat order and in one place.

Remember the main thing is to get the first word down. Once that word is down, the first sentence becomes easier. The first paragraph is next, and thus there are very few firsts left. At this time you have this done you are ready for your seconds.

Congratulations! You have started your story or essay. Keep going, because you are on your way to becoming a writer.
