Waiting by the phone

a poem about a long distance relationship.

i see butterflies and daisies
bunny rabbits too
yellow crayon sunshine,
skies of ocean blue
singing songbirds flitting to and fro
music in my ears when i hear you say hello
but when you say goodbye
the magic comes to halt
and all the sugar in the world
quickly turns to salt
all the happy things just dissapear and then
i wait until i can
hear your sweet voice again.
