The end is so near
Success is so far
Can't anyone help stop the bleeding?
The light at the end of the tunnel isn't clear
And there's no time left for healing

What do you do when reality hits
When your bubble bursts
And what happens next isn't sure?
What do you say when they all walk away
Purging your heart of the cure?

You just leave the world in the dust
Keep everything else far behind you
And the next thing you'll know
Once your vision has cleared
Is that there's nothing around left to blind you

Kings and queens they rise and they fall
Leaving others to clean up their mess
This straight and narrow path that I'm on
Seems to leave me no room to digress
If I rise I'm staying in power
I will not fail once again
I just can't seem to reach the top of that tower
Where I can make it all begin

I'll just leave the world in the dust

And the next I'll know
Once my vision has cleared

What is this great power I seek?
What is my ultimate goal?
I'm on the road to personal freedom
But I have yet to pay the toll
