Set 500 years in the future, human kind has left Earth (Earth-that-was) and settled the galaxy on terraformed planets and moons. Captain Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds owns Serenity, a Firefly class ship, and together with his crew (1st officer Zoe and her husband, Wash {who is also the pilot}, the engineer Kaylee, Inara {the "ambassador" and a Companion}and Jayne {public relations}, flys around the galaxy hauling both legal and illegal cargo.

While on world, they pick up some passengers that turn out to be more than they bargined for. A Shepard with a mysterious past and a young doctor who is really concerned about keeping away from the Alliance.

Relaxing and escaping to another time and place.

How realistic it all seemed. It was very believable and the characters were not stiff. They had problems and complications and a good dose of humor.

How few episodes there were. Although it was fun to see the ones that hadn't actually aired on tv.

Watch all the extras and I did. Now I'm watching the episodes again.

is awesome. This was one of the better cast shows. You can tell that the actors really liked working together and were comfortable with each other right from the start. And from the gag reel, you can tell they knew how to have fun!

This is really an awesome show. FOX did not do itself any favors when they cancelled this show and Serenity (the movie) being number one its second week just goes to prove that.

Really worth the money and something you will watch over and over again. My favorite episode is Shindig. Anyone else want to weigh in?
