Shadow Complex is a new XBLA game brought to us by the folks at Epic who are responsible for hits like Gears of War and Chair who are responsible for the fantastic Undertow. Knowing the developers involved there should be no doubt how fantastic this game should have turned out to be. A game in the vein of Super Metroid and Castlevania with graphics that will wow you for a XBLA game. Definitely plenty of bang for your buck.

The video game is recommended for anyone who enjoyed classic 2d games such as Super Metroid as it's in that vein. It's also recommended for anyone who likes to have fun and has a Xbox Live account :P.

I especially liked that the game was so well produced. They left nothing out here. Though the game takes only 6 hours or so to complete (and thats with 100% completion) it's one of those games you'll come back to again and again. The collection and powering up aspect is fantastic and leaves you scouring every inch of the map. Be careful you'll stay up far too late playing this game if your not careful.

The story while decent doesn't really progress past the initial concept. Other then that it's hard to find flaws and doing so would simply be nitpicking.

Play it over again. That instant. Thats how good this game is. I can't say enough good things about it. Please pick this game up and play it.

Like every other XBLA game has a lot to live up to.

In closing I don't think it's hard to see where I stand with Shadow Complex. It's a day one purchase for me and one thats not hard to justify. It has old school sensibilities with a shiny 360 veneer and is one of the best games of the summer for only 15 dollars (1200 Microsoft points). Pick it up today.
