A woman and her family move from the pastoral south of England to a mill town in the North, called Milton. She hates it at first, but gradually makes friends and develops a stormy relationship with the owner of the mill, John Thornton.

anyone who enjoys a good romantic drama set in the 1800's in England.

Brendan Coyle as Nicholas Higgins. A friend recommended this to me a long time ago. I bought it and never watched it. Recently, Mr. Hooves and I have tried to find other period stuff to watch while we wait for season 3 of Downton Abbey to unfold. When I realized Brendan Coyle was in this, we broke the wrapper off and watched it all in one day.

the setting of that cotton mill. All that stuff flying around did not look healthy to me.

is excellent although I was unfamiliar with all except for Brendan Coyle.

if you enjoy Downton Abbey and Mr. Bates, you will no doubt enjoy Brendan Coyle in this drama.
