Summary of this Book...
The Celestine Prophecy The Celestine Prophecy is a new age-y kind of book. There it's a lot of talk about the energy we emit. This story is built around some scrolls reputed to contain secrets which can benefit those who learn them. Throughout the book these scrolls are being sought by some and suppressed by others (especially government officials). It takes place primarily in Peru. The church is involved - priests, monks... Actually, the things they are seeking are called Insights (not scrolls). I am writing this from memory right now. If I remember correctly, there are ten insights. It was fun to imagine the ideas in this book as having substance. I think the ideas are based in a bit of truth. One thing I remebmer about the flow of energy is that some folks give energy to the folks they interact with whereas others drain energy from others as they interact. This concept feels real. This book has become a best seller and started out as a self-published book advertised mainly through word of mouth. A friend passed out on to me, a friend of one of my grown children. Some of the ideas are contrary to my Christian faith. One of the ideas would account for missing people if the rapture were to happen. At one point, the book talks about folks vibrating faster as they become more enlightened. It tells us that eventually the most enlightened well be vibrating so fast they will vanish. I thought it interesting that a new age-y idea would easily account for folks disappearing if they were raptured as Christians expect to be. Although I enjoyed the ideas set forth in the insights. I did not find it to be a well-written book. I think the ideas it contained were what attracted readers rather than the quality of the book itself.

First, I am going to take a moment to let my readers know what I did here. I was trying to win Nano 2014. I got a late start and have had trouble staying with it til the end of the month. I only had two more days and I was not yet half way. My plan for 2014 was to write reviews and product reviews. The last two days, I wrote as many product reviews as possible. I did make it to the word count of 50000 I needed to succeed. None of the product reviews I created during those two days were well-written. Slowly, I am trying to clean them up.
