A very unique interpretation of some of the old stories, cleverly adapted to a modern setting which the viewers can relate to. Don't think for a moment that this is just another remake.

Well... Sherlock. He's arrogant and witty and the kind of person you'd occasionally want to punch in the face and clever and sometimes genuinely compassionate to the people around him. The last quality always comes without warning which gives it the greatest impact - you'd expect all the others from this character.

It's not a problem with the boxset, but when I originally watched in on TV the cliffhangers were annoying. I was hooked after the first episode; there was no need to make the wait agony.

I wanted to watch more. Each season consists of three 90-minute episodes so it wasn't like they didn't give the viewers their money's worth, but I still wanted more. I watched them all several times.

The chemistry between Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman is superb. One of my favourite scenes is the one when they met for the first time. I wasn't a fan of Benedict Cumberbatch before I watched this but he won me over.

Andrew Scott is delightfully over-the-top as Professor Moriarty.
