I enjoyed reading this story because I knew next to nothing about the Taiwanese culture.

In this fictional story, a little girl born in Australia grows up in Taiwan adopted by local farmers. She has a pretty good life in Taiwan from 1978 to 1989. She discovers classical music and becomes a pianist. While giving a concert in Australia, she finds out about her birth parents.

The construction of the story and the storytelling were pretty good.

What made me stop and wonder were the coincidences and the unbelievability factor of some of the plot turns, such as how this girl in such a short time could play such fantastic music and how the people in her present life, unknowingly, ended up being related to her.

Other than that, I read the book in one sitting at late night and had a pretty good time doing that.

I think the book is fun to read as it shows a different culture. Plus, I had fun reading it, but I am hesitant to recommend it since I am not too crazy about its plot and the way the writers forced the characters to behave in the sugary way they saw fit.
