Summary of this Book...
Twelve year-old Luke Ellis wakes up in what he thinks is his bedroom, then discovers there's no window on his wall. In this sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat thriller, the incoming children, once innocent, soon are forced to obey the commanding Mrs. Sisby and her staff, or get punished. Earning tokens for their obedience, they may buy cigarettes and alcohol, candy, and other items. Each of these children possess some sort of telekinesis or telepathy and the institute takes advantage of their powers to do their dirty deeds. Promises of going home, fade as these children become more aware of what's going on. But there's no way out.
This type of Book is good for...
I've never read a Stephen King book, so I would say anyone who likes good vs evil, drama, thrillers, and/or kidnapping stories, would like this one!
I especially liked... | ||
I loved the characters, especially the homeless lady, Annie. And though the end of the book provided no guarantees, it ended realistically and makes the reader ponder everything they just read!
I didn't like... | ||
A few reviewers slapped a one-star on this story due to a negative Trump reference. This bothered me that reviewers would judge the book because of a character's comment. This book does not deserve a low rating, no matter what your political views are.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
I kept thinking about this story once it ended. I hope a movie is made!
This Book made me feel...
This book made me feel curious about telekinesis and telepathy.
The author of this Book...
Stephen King is an amazing author with a creative mind. The narrator is excellent!
I recommend this Book because...
This book is totally worth reading and would be great for discussions!
I don't recommend this Book because...
If anyone is offended by a character's negative comment about Trump, don't read this or else let it roll of your back. The story is awesome and does not need to be rated a one star because of political comments. It's fiction.
