Summary of this Book...
In a small town in Vermont, people feel safe. Children play out on there own without concern from their parents. Until, that is, Diana Brewer, as fifteen year old girl, is found naked and dead in a farmer's field one morning. Someone from the small community has to be the murderer. The question is: Who? Well, honestly, I guessed from the moment I met the person. It just seemed like the obvious choice. So, I was a little disappointed with how the story eventually played out. That said, I really enjoyed this book. It didn't take me long to finish reading it. It is entertaining and, although I guessed the killer, I still had edge-of-the-seat moments when I wasn't sure who I could trust. Because the killer wasn't the only person doing bad things. At the heart of the book is the theme of ghost stories. The story is narrated by multiple people (which usually puts me off, but I found I enjoyed it here). One of the narrators is the ghost of Diana. I was surprised how well this works. There is a section of the book where the characters make a ouija board and contact the spirit of a young boy who died over 100 years ago. The theme of the supernatural plays a big part, although it doesn't take over the narrative, which I was glad about.
