Welcome to my blog: I intend to share heartfelt writing about anything that comes to mind. |
![]() Do you have a hard time admitting your wrong doings? To God? To Others? To Yourself? Would there be something you would feel ashamed of if you were to meet Jesus face to face today? Sometimes. It's never easy to admit your wrong doing to others. I desire to be good, and don't always want to admit when I am wrong to myself or anyone else. However, if we are always judging one another so harshly, How can we confess our faults to one another and pray for one another? This is a difficult subject for me. I grew up as a preacher's kid. Everything I did wrong quote unquote reflected on my dad, the preacher. I was a preacher's kid and therefore the expectations were higher. It's kind of not fair when you are in that position. You might be a normal kid, but it's like your wrongs are magnified into something more than they should be. ![]() |
![]() Is there someone in your life who doesn’t respect your relationship with God? How do you handle that? There is always someone who doesn't like it. However, respect is a 2-way street. I have to respect other people's right to have relationships with other gods or no god at all. It is possible to care about their soul and not shove my own beliefs down their throat. If someone doesn't respect my relationship with God, then I pray for them and move on. If I have to be around them on a regular basis, I try to stay on mutual ground. If God gives me the opportunity to respectfully share my faith with them, then I will do so. It has to be Spirit led and not forced. I think a lot of people either forget this or they don't realize it at all. |
![]() How would you like to be remembered most in life? What steps do you need to take to get there? I want to be remembered for my love of others. I try to imitate Christ's love for others, but I know I fail often. It isn't always easy to love like Christ. I have to work on this every day. I try not to react out of anger. That's the biggie for me. I try not to wish a curse or any bad upon people who wrong me. I try to forgive as quickly as possible. I try to treat others the way I want to be treated and sometimes even better. ![]() |
![]() If you could talk to Jesus face to face today, What would you ask him? How do you think he would answer you? When I think about it, I don't know that it would be any different than it is now. There was a time in my life that i didn't feel that way. Of course communication and perception is clearer than in person than in a mirror. So it makes me understand 1 Cor. 13 a little more where it says I see through a glass darkly but then face to face. . .I will know even as I am known. I listen to the still small voice and we speak back and forth all the time. |
![]() Pick a Biblical holiday to write about. Do you have a favorite? I believe the only holidays that are physically mentioned in the Bible are the Jewish holidays. There are around 6 or 7 if I remember right. I think the one that intrigues my interest the most is the Jubilee celebrations. I kind of wish we would celebrate the year of Jubilee every 7 years and make it a practice to forgive each other's debt. I think all of the Biblical Holidays are interesting to study and to read about. |
![]() How can we know God is listening to our prayers? I like to keep a prayer journal and a praise journal. Both of these help me to keep track of what God is doing in my life. I know he hears my prayers because he answers them. Jesus said that his sheep knows his voice in John 10:27-28. Then in Matthew 7:21-23, Jesus says God will tell those who are not his to depart from him and that he never knew them. I am very convinced that it is all about a relationship with the Father. Sometimes, I can hear the still small voice of the spirit talking to me. Other times, I hear his word and answers in the Bible. I hear his answers in the circumstances in my life and in the lives of others. I hear his voice and learn lessons he is teaching me through experience. |
![]() Are you irritated easily? What do you do when you are feeling irritated? It honestly depends on my mood or if I have missed a dose of my antidepressant. I have a depression disorder. I also have issues with anxiety. Now this does not give me an excuse to act out. However, it does help me to understand why I react the way I do sometimes. Some days, I get on my own nerves. LOL I can't be perfect all the time. Ha-ha. Yes! I try to do what's right, but I am far from perfect. I still sin willfully and accidentally. Anyway, back to irritation. It is very hard to fight your emotions when you are irritated. I just have to take a few deep breaths at time and start over. Or I have to remind myself why that is not the legacy I want to leave. I pray. Sometimes, I force myself to praise God even when I don't feel like it. It reminds me who is in charge and changes my focus from me to him. Be angry and sin not and don't let the sun go down on your wrath is a Bible verse that is also in the back of my mind. (Ephesians 4:26) |
![]() Let's write about contentment. Are you content with what you have or are you always trying to get more? I would like to think I am content for the most part. I think contentment is learned. Paul said he had learned contentment too. Philippians 4:11-12 11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I find it interesting that it is after these verses that he says he can do all things through Christ who strengthens him. (Philippians 4:13) |
![]() What kind of core values do you believe Christ had? It would make sense to think Jesus would share the same core values as the Holy Spirit. Gal. 5:22-23 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 [a]gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. I also like to think complete allegiance and obedience to God the Father is also among his core values. |
