Thanks for your comments. Yes, you’ve right about things changing with age. I never thought I’d find myself incapacitated. Weird isn’t it? I’m sure we all have had the sense that ‘old age won’t happen to me!’ It seems life had other plans.😂
Hope your recovery after your knee surgery is progressing well.

Nice entry.

Like you, I don't do clothes shopping anymore, and with the arthritis, I stopped walking outside, but I walk inside the house and around the yard. Things change greatly as we grow older and older.

Hats off to you! I don't think I could do what you did. On the other hand, having a lot of people fixing things while you are taking care of the kids and trying to keep them safe would have its own downers, too.
Anyhow, so glad you could and did do all that! That's some feat to be proud of.

I agree the cheetos aka the man who wants to be Hitler and Putin rolled into one, his ignorance will definitely have global impacts.

I've been getting as much as I can in order before my surgery on Monday, February 3rd. I'm having my right knee replaced followed my left shortly after. Writing didn't fit in for me either. Looking forward to seeing more of you in the months ahead.

weather where I live is also unsettling. Took the dogs out for a walk yesterday had some sunshine but today is fog and rain on top of a couple feet of snow turning everything to slush.

Every year I look forward to something called January Thaw. This year we just had a new blizzard every couple days. If the thaw does not show up properly in February, the sap won't run properly from the trees less maple syrup probably. Anyway, forecast says sunshine tomorrow. If we have a freeze in the night all slush will turn to ice.

The feeling was amazing indeed. The first night was the scariest but after that I found so much joy in each task I tried. I've surprised myself on more than one occasion, Yes I can do anything I set my mind to doing.

I can’t say I’d be tempted to go camping on my own, so I think you’re very brave. It would have given you so much confidence knowing you succeeded. Afterwords you must have felt as if there was nothing you couldn’t do on your own.

Alien life.

PROMPT March 9th

Write about the mythical or science fiction creatures/beings that could actually exist. Imagine a world where there was definitive proof of their existence - how would life be different?

I steer clear of any story which has an alien being as it’s MC. So therefore I’m ill equipped to write about such beings.
However after the trouble the covid 19 organism caused, I could be convinced an invasion from another planet is possible. The being doesn’t need to be massive, ferocious and with large teeth, ready to destroy anyone unfortunate enough to get in its way. No I believe the invaders will be microscopic, they are much more to be feared. We can’t see them or hear or touch them. Their infiltration will be silent and stealthy.

Foreign places

PROMPT March 8th

Where are some unusual places you’ve been? What was the most interesting or surprising thing you learned or discovered about those places?

I think India was the most unusual place we visited. We went there for many weeks, just back packing around. We were well into our sixties when we embarked on that particular journey and both my husband and I lost a lot of weight. It was the humidity, the food and the exhaustion combined which made us lose weight, but the experience was worth it. We needed a holiday when we got home!
We loved Thailand though. We were travelling through the whole country for seven weeks. We slept in twenty different places, non of them very salubrious! Little huts on the beach for ten dollars a night in Phuket. The year later these same huts were washed away in the Tsunami.
