If I want to know what happened, I don't watch US TV anymore. UK and Australian TV was much more accurate and factual. I had to wait a little on Youtube, but the wait was worth it. Yesterday's assassination attempt was something that the US Networks couldn't quite manage to report on without prefacing everything with warnings not to blame the media. Oh, gee. Why would anyone do that? I saw a bunch of reasons (clips) displayed on Australian TV. All ready to go. You know. Like actual professionals. 1968 was bad. I don't want to repeat living through that time. I feel sad that this happened. I pray for things to be better than they were in the 60s. You know. Growth. I pray for growth and for ALL the victims of senseless violence. Isn't that what civilized people do. |
Kåre เลียม Enga - Do you remember rabbit ears antennas? I don't have that, but I have a flat thing that plugs into the back of my 17 year old TV. I have to tilt it this way and that at a particular window. I miss rabbit ears. TVs are pretty cheap now. I don't have cable and haven't since 2015. I DO NOT MISS having Cable, except with a big news story like this I miss Walter Cronkite, who you undoubtedly are too young to remember. |
♥Ho Ho HOOves♥ - I'm older than you. Sky King every Saturday morning. Romper Room. Lassie and Lawrence Welk on Sundays. Most folks had rabbit ears on their black/white TV or antennae the roof. But... we didn't. I must've had cable in the 80s because I remember MTV. In Thailand 2023 the condo came with a television and cable. Wifi wasn't much of an issue because I had dTac service on my phone and used my phone as a hot spot. Interesting how technology has changed. Growing up we had our own number as my dad worked for NY Tel. (PL1155) PL = Plaza. |
Kåre เลียม Enga - I am not so sure, but I won't argue with you on the age thing. LoL. I remember having rabbit ears and we wrapped them in aluminum foils. Black and White TV, ah I remember it well. We had no cable (lucky YOU with the cable already) and I didn't have cable until I was married so I'm thinking late 90s for that. My brother used to hog the TV and I think he watched Sky King reruns. Telephone was rotary dial. In Iowa my relatives had a party line so if you picked up the phone you could hear conversations all day long. |
