I just casually asked my sister (a nurse) how I could murder someone medically and get away with it. Ah, the fascinating life of a writer.

Hey guys! Nature is really getting in our faces around now! Today it rained hard all morning so that small rivers ran down the road. And autumn is arriving for me in the U.S., which means cooler air and changing leaves. Why don't you read a fun poem about the lively rhythm of autumn?
Beautiful red flowers just appeared in our yard. We've never planted them but they pop up every year. I don't know their name, but I think knowing would take away part of the wonder. It's too dark to take a picture right now but I did write a poem about them:
As part of my challenge for the "Invalid Item" , I want to tell you about my favorite season. That is a very difficult question. My automatic response is usually summer, just because I'm so cold all the time and going outside in summer is the one surefire way to warm up. However, the other seasons have their charms... Fall is when the leaves change, Winter does not have much going for it, due to my hatred of cold temperatures. But it does get very cozy when it snows Spring is tricky. You think it's getting warmer and you let down your guard, then BAM a cold snap. But hey, there are pretty flowers, Summer is hot, summer is humid. What else is there to say? I don't go swimming much. I get only a slight tan. But I do love that heat, baby! I have to choose a favorite. Autumn wins! It's the sweaters, boots, holidays, leaves, and special foods that win me over. And it's not too cold yet.

We're in spring now, and I love seeing all the new lambs, calves, ducklings, etc. We get a lot of rainbows in spring too. But summer is my favourite season. Autumn is clear and cold, which is nice, winter is wet which is not fun, spring is unpredictable but you have all the newborn animals, and summer is hot and perfect for eating and playing outside. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** My name is Julie. I am a Newbie here who is participating in the Let's Get Social activity! I was wondering in my heart of hearts... what Word Warrior beating cancer!! Do you guys watch TV or movies? If so, how does it affect your writing? I've been binge-watching Teen Wolf (any other fans?) and I'm amazed by how GOOD it is. So many awesome characters, plot twists, and fun werewolf action. I'm left thinking, I want to write something as good as that! I know it's a TV show, so there's way more material than a story, book, or movie, but still. Should I just write by the seat of my pants and hope everything works out? If a character in my head decides to "leave" can I just write in a convenient death scene or move them to Europe? *cough cough I know what really happened* I know when I see a deliciously evil character on the screen, I want to write a character similar to him or her. Or someone who is unique or quirky or I just really like for some reason. And I want to write awesome fight scenes and love stories and death scenes, and have my readers love my characters and cry over them. Here's the main question: How do TV and movies influence your writing? Any particular examples of inspirations?
I just started watching Teen Wolf, myself! I actually didn't think I'd like the show much from seeing bits of it when it first started, but people I followed on Tumblr kept posting gifs that made me curious enough to give it a fair shot. I'm really into it so far, but I'm only on episode 5. (Though I do know some of what happens later due to Tumblr stuff.) Pretty much every show I've gotten into from Tumblr has been right up my alley. I also started Orphan Black recently, so now I'm torn between the two, because they're both so good! Anyhow, I absolutely love TV shows and movies. I find them just as inspiring as books, if not more. I LOVE reading, but I just don't have the opinion that books are somehow inherently "better" than telling stories in other forms. I think every form of media has the potential to tell a story that can be told in no better way. And I consider myself a writer, yes, but also a creator. Writing happens to be the form from which my ideas blossom. But I get inspired in so many ways, from so many art forms.
Valerie Rutherford I totally agree about books not always being "better." Every artistic form has its strengths! And movies and TV shows can sometimes get into your heart like nothing else can if they're done well. I love writing, but anything where I'm creating is fulfilling.
Wow, twelve in one night! That's awesome! Sometimes, I seriously want to do the same thing with a show, but I also get really worried about pacing myself so I don't finish things off too quickly. Because then I get sad. :( So, yeah, I have the urge to super binge watch warring against an 'I get sad when things end' mentality. But luckily, Teen Wolf is still on, so at least I won't have to get too sad when I catch up. I'm usually watching through several shows at the same time, so that balances things out, but now, I really want to see what was so great about Season 3 Part 2! TV shows have, in the last few years, been the stories I've gotten the most into. At least in terms of a series or continuation. I'm also reading more than ever before, but a lot of the books I've loved the most lately were stand-alone stories. I did get pretty into the Divergent series last year. But most of the other book series I've started, even if I loved the first book, haven't gotten me as completely hooked as TV shows have. And I've yet to find any book series that can compare to my love of Harry Potter!
Hey guys, I just developed a new poetic form! It's just another Tuesday now, The birthday scene has passed. It's time to go to work again and sit through eight hours of training for something that I've been doing perfectly well for over a year just because I missed the session year last. I'm calling it "the rhyming rant."
