My first EVER writing retreat takes place this weekend with my wonderful, local Romance Writers of America group. I'm so excited, but so nervous. (The life of someone with anxiety disorder...) I already hit 50k in my NaNoWriMo project, but need 30k more to finish the book. Hoping I can knock it out!

Heading home tonight to make some treats to share! Thinking... Maybe homemade Chex Mix, double decker brownies (brownie with a rice crispy on top,) or maybe some candied pecans. Decisions, decisions! *Laugh*
I need to share this with someone! My husband got a wild hair and decided to go through his closet full of old computer parts. On an old hard drive he found a file with the first book I ever wrote. I think I wrote it in 1997. I spent the last couple hours rereading it, and OMG was it bad! The plot wasn't horrible, but it's filled with head hoping and telling. Really makes me recognize how far I've come!

Hard to believe I found this site two years ago (yesterday.) I've made some great friends here. Grateful for this community!
My office is comprised of five individuals:
1) Semi-retired, currently wintering in Arizona.
2) On spring break in Florida with her kids.
3) Celebrating sister's birthday in another part of Florida.
4) Called to say he "deserves a late morning." He'll be here after lunch sometime.
5) Me. Arrived 25 minutes before shift start. Sitting alone at reception desk with four empty offices behind me...

Honestly, it's a nice morning. Quiet. No one's complaining. Four people aren't all asking me to do different things at the same time. Most relaxing Monday in a long time. *Laugh*

Finished my entire to-do list in an hour. Now I'm off to work on my WIP.
Rewriting is going well!
I have nine chapters "done."
Of course, I've added a whole 10K in work count so far. *Laugh*
