| When did writing become so hard? I haven't written in a while, sat down to write a short story on Wednesday and it was a struggle! After 15 minutes, I put it away. Yesterday I didn't get time to write. Today I hope for at least 15 more minutes that will, perhaps, flow more smoothly. HELP! I'm stuck in Block Land. |
| I'm back! After a surgery that ended up being cancer that the biopsy did not catch, (Stage 1 Thank God), and dealing with hubby's Alzheimer's, I really need to start writing again. There is much that needs to be said... frustrations, hurt, pain, and even joys and happiness. So, hello everyone - I'm back! |

| I think I'm finished my novel... I'm getting ready to put it in the hands of my former boss, an English major and prolific reader. She told me she would do a first read and edit before I get a professional editor. Hallelujah!!!! I'm so ready to move on away from it to something else. Although a part of me feels there are still unwritten chapters - and maybe there are. |
| Thank you to the Game of Thrones for selecting my work to review. I received some wonderful, informative reviews. There were some good catches that I intend to edit with suggestions that were in the reviews. I have been out of commission - not writing for a while - life has not been so good for a while and I thought it had killed my Muse. (My husband was diagnosed with dementia. I have only been doing mindless things lately - can we say Facebook?) Your reviews encouraged me - and as I went back and reread my pieces through your eyes, it made me really want to write again. I'm so sorry and my heart goes out to you for what you guys are going through.  With that said, it makes me so happy to hear the authors feedback that they are getting inspired to write from GoT. | What do you consider "literary" writing as opposed go creative writing? I come in contact with this quite often and there is a thought that "literary" writing is better writing than creative which tends to be more commercial... or so I understand. Any thoughts? |

Yesterday I had two children who brought me their poetry to read. They said that I had inspired them to write the night before.  I am so thankful that I can inspire a young mind to write. I got a card signed by one of the classes telling me that I had inspired them to read more and to write. I am pleased. Being a writer only comes from being a reader. Hopefully I have inspired someone to follow their muse and begin a lifetime of reading and creative writing. |
| Our dear Jo-Jo, the dog that has run our household for 4, almost 5 years, is very sick. His liver is severely swollen and an ultrasound and blood work shows cancer of the liver. We are getting more blood work and liquids work up to make sure - but they were 95% sure - this will either confirm the cancer and make it 100% or help us to know what to do to help him if there is any chance. We are all in pain. My son got this dog when he got out of service. We had asked him not to work or go to school for 6 months so that he could remember who he was before (after 2 deployments in Iraq). This dog was therapy for him - house training by taking him out every 15 minutes at first as well as teaching him house manners. Jo is much loved by all of us. Our hearts are breaking but we are still praying for a miracle. Please say a prayer for our Jo-Jo - and for us if we have to accept what we don't want to hear. |
| Someone reviewed me and said that I had misspelled words in the piece. I did not. I asked her to change her review but she said she didn't know how. How can she do that? Does anyone know? People need to be cautious about how they review people. I try to put out quality work and it bothers me to have something like that said. I read and re-read before putting it out there. Occasionally I may have a misspelled word but it's not often because I not only use spell check but I also check words myself to make sure. |
