Don't forget that entry into A Romance Contest gets you into Schnujo's in Alabama 's contest
Why would you not enter? (Just don't forget - it's an August round..... so entries created outside of August don't count.) |
Thank you for mentioning my challenge! Best of luck to your contest and its participants! |
I have been writing it in my mind... need to actually type it up. |
I have an idea! Now I just need to write it. |
My characters are so far roundly ignoring my fascination with the Olympics and are not putting their hands up to be any sort of sporty. Turns out, I actually don't have many sporty characters anyway. A few do archery, because I do (er, did), and a few do horse racing (as jockeys) because that was what I wanted to do back in the day (like, last century) and a couple are really good at baseball (also a fascination pre 2000s). But that's about it. However, if I were to make sportspeople out of them, it'd probably all be related to archery, shooting, badminton and trampolining. What about everyone else? |
So I am totally the type who has watched my school's soccer team lose while I'm playing dungeons and dragons. I haven't quite had too much bandwidth for it, but I have loved watching Simone Biles. Aleksei from my project Wilderness of the Gods would be interested in fencing. Felician from my project The Princess and the Elf would be excellent with sprinting. Silje from Northsong would be a competitive swimmer. The rest of my characters are very nerdy. |
I played tennis in high school, but even then I was bad at it and was doing it more for fun. I don't watch sports (with the exception of American Ninja Warriors because my husband is into it and this year's Olympics) because sports aren't my thing. They aren't my characters' thing, either. It has never occurred to me to have a character do any sort of physical activity other than run because something is chasing them. That happens to be my life moto: I never run unless a bear is chasing me. So there's that... |
Thanks everyone for the anniversary wishes, GPs, MBs and reviews . I think that's the biggest response I've had in the 11 years, ha ha I joined back in 2013 to kick myself into finishing my novel Watching Clouds (as it was called then). Still took me five years to actually do that and publish, but at least I can tick it off. I love being here reading, writing, reviewing; and talking with others about reading, writing, reviewing. You are all very awesome. |
