You left a note on MY Notebook tab in my Port. I answered it, but then I wasn't sure if you were notified of my answer.

So, I'm copying my answer here.

You posted a note in MY Notebook. It will not appear on the Newsfeed because you posted in MY Notebook.

I looked back about 16 hours on the Newsfeed and didn't see any notes that you posted. The following information is from an entry on Notebooks in "Writing.Com 101" --"Notebook Tab" :

When you post a note in your own Notebook tab, the note is added to the Community Newsfeed, and to the Personal Newsfeeds of those who have set you as one of their Favorites or Fans. You can also use the note form at the top of either Newsfeed page to post a note, and the note will be stored in your Notebook tab.


We can try an experiment: You post a note in your Notebook tab in your Port and tag me {suser:sybaritescribe}. That note should be displayed both in your Port's Notebook tab AND your Newsfeed. I will answer your note in your Notebook tab. Then you can see if it shows on the Newsfeed.
I don't see where to tag you. I'm sorry, what I meant by public was showing up in the Newsfeed. I see that anyone can go into your profile and look at your Notebook. That's public.
I'm so confused.
You answered my question about posting in another person's Notebook it does not go into the Newsfeed. Thank you. Clif

Paranologist Author Icon - First, allow me to explain about tagging. You can tag any member in any text box large enough to have the editing icons at the top of the box. Typing {suser:sybaritescribe} will look like JACE Author Icon.

Second, you're correct that any person can go into your Port and look at your Notebook entries. They will be public.

But, if YOU begin a note in your Notebook, it will also be listed on the Newsfeed. If a member answers your note from in your Notebook, it will only show in your Notebook. If they answer that same note listed on the Newsfeed, it will appear on the Newsfeed. It just depends from which place the member answers your note.

And yes, it can be quite confusing.

Saw your question in "Non-Technical Support Forum" . Thought my post here will help answer your question. You can check the Newsfeed for this post. I suspect it shows in the Newsfeed only if you began a post in the Newsfeed.
And posts to your Notebook are public.
I feel a little bit like an environmentalist. Considering how we are doing iwth our planet. We have to have the government taking seriously what is happening now.
The situation may become as I am saying in my story. Is there anything we can do to have the officals understand what's crruently happening on this planet. Our world is the only one we have. Our resources are being plundered by the most wealthy clients.

Do they not understand what is going wrong? When will they what we are saying to them to believe in the stories that the environmentalis have been saying to them,
Patrick, I am an environmentalist too. I am mostly concerned about global warming. The government is totally ignoring the problem and they are cutting all departments that were dealing with the climate crisis. Thanks for your message.
