Some things I would suggest are checking out the Community News Feed, which you get to by clicking on Newsfeed on the left menu and then clicking on Community News Feed at the top of the page. This will show you the posts of people you haven't fanned yet. You can get a better idea of what the site is like there. I you are interested in any of the messages or members feel free to click on the plus sign to the right of their handle . Do it once and you have favorited them and their posts will now show up on your private newsfeed. Click it twice and you will have fanned them and they will be notified that you have, It is always a bump to the ego when someone new fans you. The thing is a lot of members will occasionally reward their fans with merit badges and gift points or GPs. You also have some merit badges waiting for you in the Achievements Menu under the My Account tab on the left hand menu. You have to go to the tab to receive the badges it is a good idea to check back there regularly because you don't receive achievement badges you have earned unless you check on them.
