When there are too many choices, how do you narrow it down? I'm working on ways, but it is not easy.

I tell myself to make the least stupid decision with the best information available.

And if the best information is somehow less than reassuring for some reason I've made up in my head with a "what if" scenario, I then ask, "is the outcome of the least stupid decision fatal?" and "is it reversible or changeable?" and "how much does this matter in the next 3 months?"

Spoiler: almost always no, yes, and not very. And when the second is yes, the third is not a problem, really.

Best being "reliable source", not "research it to death."
Jayne Author Icon - and by least stupid, I mean some things weed themselves out quite obviously, while others come down to preference.

Mine is usually "I don't want to put in THAT much effort" - and solutions quickly whittle themselves down. Lol

If it's down to two or so - flip a coin. You'd be surprised how often you "hope" it lands on one side or the other.

I am hoping for a little good luck. Over Christmas I stepped on a pair of glasses and they broke. Then yesterday dropped my phone in the snow, almost losing it cause I had left it at a parking lot outside the pharmacy. Part of it doesn't work. Le sigh. Maybe 2026 will be a good year, maybe.

And yes. I totally agree. Even when humans are broken, there shouldn't be anything duct tape can't do.

Duck tape is only helpful IF you can find it. Had occasion to need it yesterday for a project my wife was doing. Searched all our normal places for it, and several abnormal places. No luck.

Painter's tape just doesn't cut it.
Send focus. I have a list and I'm motivated.
December happened when I wasn't looking.
