I've managed to find time to walk the past 3 days. Nothing big - about 1.5 miles around the neighborhood and while it's been achy for my hip, I think it's really helping. If anything, I've come to discover that building up the muscles that might be weak around around joints really does help to ease the pain. |
I just booked the following Newsletters: Romance/Love 27 NOV (I'm a full time editor) Action/Adventure 27 NOV (guest editor) Poetry 11 DEC (guest editor) Anyone have any topic suggestions for the newsletters? I was thinking of tackling Comic Books for the Action/Adventure one, but I'm open to suggestions. |
Romance in December could be about people during Christmas, or animals cuddling to keep warm, or how you would create these stories. Action adventure could be about an alien understanding this genre or what if true crime was interwoven into the story, or the basic framework of creating a story in this genre. Even combining romance with action adventure is possible. Poetry could be some basics or something about a specific type. |
I have a suggestion for you. I found a top 20 listing of free online magazines. Each issue of your newsletter could feature a topic from a different magazine. Then, ask for entries/comments for a pseudo "Letter to the Editor" on that specific topic. |
Last night at work I discovered the CW did a Waltons semi-remake - a Walton's Thanksgiving in 2021 and 2022 I think? Not that I was a big Walton's fan growing up, I now see the value of the show and I'm looking forward to watching these shows on my time off. Has anyone else watched them? |
I grew up watching this show with my family. As well as others like Leave it to Beaver, Andy Griffith… I miss those days. |
StephBee - I agree. Those shows were always “cheesy” and as I got older I felt too “cool” to watch them with my family. Now, at 26, I’m debating sitting and watching them again. As cheesy as they were, the messages of morals were strong. |

The muscles in an antagonistic pair are the agonist and antagonist muscles:
Agonist: The muscle that contracts
Antagonist: The muscle that relaxes or lengthens
After walking forward and then backward for a while, these agonist and antagonist muscles reverse roles. For me, this feels like an active stretch! This also is a great brain exercise for the kinetic section of your brain.
