A while ago, I was playing a Madlib: https://www.writing.com/main/madlibs.php/item_id/2159263-Shrunk-By-Your-Female-B... My mind was set on that Phoenix Wright interactive, so I named myself "Nick", and the boss "Mia Fey". Partway in, it turns out that Mia's angry at me for making sexual comments behind her back. And the guy who ratted me out is someone she calls "Barry". Even in Madlibs. Even when the original story has nothing to do with attorneys. Even when Mia still messes up his first name. When something smells, it's usually the Butz. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnmdHc6ZL7w |
If anyone's interested in reading the chapters I made, but - Don't have a writing.com account and can't see "more by this author" - Keep running into paywalls - Realize that a story's been deleted I've put up mirrors of my all the additions I've made to interactive stories here: https://www.deviantart.com/tfwnogiantgf/art/Archive-of-My-Writing-Com-Chapters-6... Please have fun! |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogaV_9cUbQo All the plot threads I set up and abandoned have now been taken care of! Project Finish-What-I-Started is at its end! If you're wondering where I am for the next little while, just read the last four chapters I put up. That should clarify things. Thanks to everyone who helped, and everyone who chatted with me and kept patient! Happy Canada Day, and then happy Independence Day a while after that! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLS8kto2wjE |
An automated message from Writing.com informs me that I need to plug myself more shamelessly. So: WOOO NEW SIZE STORY HERE COME AND GET YOUR GIANTESS RAMPAGING: https://www.writing.com/main/view_item/item_id/2193078-The-Great-Size-Change-of-... |
....I'm not sure...I should be terrified or amazed by a giantess that is based off of Shin-godzilla of the literations. |
pOlItIcS The hottest giantesses are the ones based off Zilla. You can't help but want to cuddle her after those nasty military guys and the big bully Godzilla knock her down. |
She was only feeding her dozens of children! Not every monster is Godzilla and Mothra! Those tramps have it made! |
DONE For the sake of transparency and commitment: I hereby begin Project Finish What I Started! My general criteria: if a chapter I wrote has any questions left, or has a cliffhanger, and nobody's picked off from it, I'll continue the story until it reaches something more satisfying. I won't start anything new until finishing this backlog, or unless external factors knock an item off the backlog. I missed both my April and May goals; I'll just post writing as it comes.Finished in June! I'll edit the list as I go. Anyone's free to help, or remind me of a route I missed! Done - Shrunk by a kid - end chapters for Sibella vore and Wonder Woman growth - 2 chapters of Small Bargain - Your Life Smaller: December's nail polish arc conclusion - Shrunk in the Worlds of Ochiko Terada: the giga unaware Watashi arc - Legends of Zelda Size Changing: the Linkle arc (sponsored by Smokey the Bear) - The Great Size Change of the Dirty Pair (or, "Lights Out for Goliath! Does This City Make My Butt Look Big?") (This one was actually a full story.) - /d/Size - Portals Edition: Done 4 chapters and 3 endings, one of them a joke ending. - BONUS: Excel Saga Giantess Interactive: an extra joke ending chapter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogaV_9cUbQo |
I'm making a new interactive! But how do I excite and inspire potential writers? How can I get them involved in the plot, or encourage them to add? How can I engage readers, and show how much effort I'm willing to put in the story? ...Better write a string of choice chapters, and nothing else! Yes! Folks, never write your own stories; instead, just keep praying that a magical fairy will read your choice chapters and add to them! That's how great writing is made. Give 'em that 1% inspiration, someone else can take care of the 99% perspiration! |
Don't forget when someone just spams the s*** out of an with chapter with a questionable quality. All to get some monies. :D |
lolboy - lol, yeah, the monster called Reallife has hit us all at some point. I've definitely put work off when it's snuck up on me. KD - that especially sucks when they're getting muns for winging it. I refuse commissions because I feel like I couldn't make stuff up to snuff or that fits the characters. |
Thank you to the kind anon who gave me paid membership! I'm still on break - somehow, it moved from "stay off wdc for March" to "stop writing on wdc for March", because I lack willpower - but I hope to put it to good use soon! |
Sure, here's a great tip: don't derail my notebook! All honesty: I like the sense of humor in your writing, and the variety of character types (and for types!) that pop up. But when it comes to the openings of your interactive stories, I kinda have trouble telling what the "focus" should be - whether it's a clean pitch, or a specific fetish. Anyways, keep up with the fun stuff! Thanks for everything! |
I have some unfinished writing and video games to take care of, so I'll be gone for March. But let's talk about that topic: Unfinished stories This came up before. My bio has this line: "Wishes others would continue what he started". That mindset's left a lot of unresolved plot threads and stories without conclusions on this site. Part of this is to be expected; some of these interactives are based more on evocative scenes than narrative. People sometimes come here for a quick bit of fun more than a sprawling story. And heck if it isn't great to just pop into a story and build on its ideas. But I've had this feeling for a while, that you all deserve better than to be left without resolution. Watching Humanity Has Declined's forth episode had reasserted my belief: one can't keep making twists in a story without them leading to anything. I always remember the insane high I felt upon completing the Excel giantess story. It didn't matter who read it; I'd finished something amazing for myself. Some interactives I added to have been deleted from writing.com before reaching a satisfying conclusion. If every one were to be deleted now, nobody would want dangling plot threads left. In any case, it's time to stop pretending that refreshing my email will conclude my stories. I've been considering taking a break from new storylines, and doing something of a "finish what you started" approach. Just wrapping up any path I began, answering every question, and resolving all the cliffhangers like sbemail 158. What do people think of this approach? Are there any nagging paths that authors need to resolve in interactives? What kinds stories are best staying as one-shots, with the option for others to build off? Or do people not mind authors latching onto Shiny New Ideas and flavors of the month? In any case, I'll just make it clear: do not consider any chapter path I start as "reserved". If you see a direction it can go, add it. I can work with it. Heck, by that end, please steal any of my OCs for any purpose, if any are interesting enough. I shouldn't expect others to do the dirty work, but never assume I have a strict plan. Without the spirit of collaboration, that this site encourages, I may as well be putting this all on Pastebin. Until next time, see you. |
We free members are familiar with this error: Due to resource limitations, Interactive Stories are temporarily unavailable to visitors and free members. But something I just discovered today: you can also get this error when you type in the URL of a deactivated interactive's chapter. (As long as the chapter is after chapter 4, of course) Further experimentation reveals: I can get this error by typing in the URL for an interactive that never existed. For instance, when you're having server problems, test this link out: https://www.writing.com/main/interact.php/item_id/1655-fooly_cooly/action/view/c... This returns a "temporarily unavailble" message for me. There's no interactive story on the site named "fooly cooly"; there's no interactive on the site with the Item ID "#1655"; and if there were, you wouldn't be able to access "chapter reeee". So, interesting to note: the site's filter on interactive stories doesn't actually check if a given chaper or given story exists before denying access to it. A valiant knight, guarding an empty chest with his life. |
What do people think of Madlibs stories? I feel like letting the reader choose details of the story significant enough to change its meaning, but also incorporating those details in generic enough ways that they can still make sense, is a really neat balancing act. I'd kinda like to try one, just as a writing exercise. |
Quick shout-out to Brosus and his interactive, https://www.writing.com/main/interact/item_id/2179268-Shrunk-in-the-Worlds-of-Oc... I'm a big fan of Ochiko Terada, of his crazy scales, of his taste in waifus, of his variety in interactions, of his storytelling skills, and of how easy it is for collage artists to re-use his cityscapes. I'll be adding a bit to it, with some more sedate scenarios to start off. I'd welcome anyone who likes mega, giga, nerds, princesses, city shrinking, body exploration, butts, or Mr. Terada's characters to join me, brainstorm paths for it, or review how my own plot's going. Hope to see this one ascend to great heights; infinity isn't nearly enough when it comes to Ochiko's gals! |
A lot of shrink stories end at the main character getting crushed. And that's fine. But sometimes, I'd like to see what happens after that. I'd like to see people thinking about what that lost shrinkee meant to them, an exploration of the human cost to it. I'd like to see the giant(ess), aware or unaware, reacting to their status as a killer - and how it changes their psyche, or how they keep sane. I'd like to see police investigations into the scene of the squish. I'd like to see them pinning the crime on Maya Fey, based on circumstantial evidence. I'd like to see a lengthy court proceeding with wacky pun names while Phoenix strives to prove her innocent, and uncover the real killer. |
So, here's a familiar post: I won No Fap September AND No Fap November, but -I'm kinda on a good pattern here -I have a NaNoWriMo to edit -The last three Ace Attorney games are on sale, and I feel like I need to get through them before I can really sink my teeth into that sweet, juicy Size Interactive that's up here. -My current work patterns have left me spewing out tons of stuff early in the month, then frozen on everything else I wanted to finish; I need some time to clear my thoughts I recognize that this is more of a post for myself than for other people, since I'm already sporadic: but see you all in February. May your dreams be full of Mount Fuji, hawks, and eggplants. |
May large women visit your dreams, too!
