Found your puzzle on the newsfeed, so I had to check it out. Great use of words, and nice little backstory of the first Thanksgiving. I enjoyed it, and it took just a few minutes to solve. Well done!
Thank you for sharing this holiday tidbit, and I hope you get several tries at it.
What a wonderful day from your description. It's too funny about the dog learning volleyball. Young children can be tiring, but I'm glad the weather was good for you and your family.
Thanks for sharing your day with us here on Writing.Com. I hope the memories keep you warm during the craziness of the weather that is coming. I am glad you are back.
After reading about your mis? adventures with this group, I don't blame you for wanting less stress in your life. People will be people, and you don't need the drama, so good for you. They will find someone to deal with the drama, or they won't. It's not up to you to figure it out. I do hope you fix your focus back on your writing, or that you find something that nurtures you.
Blessings to you.
I enjoyed your word search. I especially liked the answers you gave to help out. The only word that didn't come back with a "thumbs up" icon was cornocopia. I'm not sure if it is a spelling issue, or if the puzzle doesn't recognize it....or whatever.
All I know is that I am hungry now
Thank you for sharing, and I hope Webby likes it too.
It is cold, bleak and rainy here in Lubbock Texas. At least it isn't snowing like a few hours north of here. Colorado got buried in snow and shut down some highways
But all in all, it is soup weather. My favorite soup combo is tomato soup with grilled cheese to accompany it. I also like beef and barley, potato soup and cheddar cheese and broccoli. Now I am getting hungry .
An interesting poll, and very appropriate for this time of year. Thanks for sharing!
Holy Mackerel! There were a lot of happenings in November. I didn't remember my history so well, so this was definitely a wake-up/shake-up. I guess for me, my Dad's birthday is November 2nd (1947) and my mom's birthday is November 19 (1943). For me these are good dates and I am lucky enough to have both of them still.
I do remember the craziness of Bush/Gore election, and all of the shenanigans that went with it, and I am ready for this election to be over. I am over all of it, and the hatred and violence that has already been a part. It makes me wonder if anybody even wants to get along anymore
Thank you for sharing this. We really do need to learn from our history, or we will be doomed to repeat it.
This brought back some memories for me. I remember when I was little, that my grandmother would talk to the television when her "stories" were on. Even my father in law would watch the stories during summer vacation. Crazy how popular they were back in the day. My most memorable ones were the "possession" of Marlena, although I could tell you the name of the soap anymore. But I just read in the news, that the character of John Black - the actor just passed away.
Thanks for sharing. It didn't take me too long, but great job!
What a predicament! I'm not sure I'd like everyday to be Halloween I would rather every day be Thanksgiving or Christmas...but then again, can't you have too much of a good thing?
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and you followed the prompt really well.
My First Impression:My daughter and I were looking up different category of hurricanes and their aftermath. Looks like Milton is on par with Rita (2005) and may do some serious damage like Andrew
My Favorite Part: I am wondering if this is tongue-in-cheek about the founding father, or if this is the real FEMA fella.
I hate the politicization of a severe storm by people who seem to just use everything to toot their own horns. Politics nowadays just suck
My Suggestions/Final Thoughts:
When you say hurricane Milton, should hurricane be capitalized? Also I believe Vancen should be Vance...but it is just quibbles compared to the message, which I thought was a on the head.
I got 100% on your little quiz. Does that make me a nerd or a geek? LOL.
It was fun to do, and not too hard to get the answers, although a couple made me think. Are all of these movies tied to Disney? I'm not sure. I liked the trilogy of Indiana Jones, and I liked the two Mummy movies. Not a big fan of Laura Croft, and of course the first Pirates of the Caribbean is .
I would be happy to do other puzzles like this in the future with all kinds of topics (especially history).
Thank you for sharing. I really enjoyed your blog entry. I didn't know there was such a store as Bi-Mart. Sounds like an interesting business, being employee owned.
I like the prompts, as they are interesting. I look forward to checking out further entries from your blog.
Thank you for sharing this very spooky puzzle. I enjoyed it very much, and loved the nods to several of WdC members as well.
It took me a few minutes to find all of the words, but I did so! I wasn't familiar with a couple of the words, so I shall look them up to expand my knowledge of things Samhain.
I am reviewing as part of the Tour de Ports Challenge.
This review is part of my journey to complete "Tour de Ports" . Come ride with us!
First Impressions:You always have beautiful signature pictures and trinkets. I was able to add your GOT dragons to my collection. Thank you for posting/sharing your trinkets with everyone. I hope many are added to the collections of those who are trinket fans.
What I liked:The colors and the realism are fantastic. I wish I was able to do such beautiful graphic work such as this. Thank you so very much for sharing such wonderful work. You are thoughtful and encouraging and use your work to brighten your reviews. I am humbled and grateful for such reviews that you give.
Questions/Final Thoughts/Suggestions:Part of the challenge is to make a suggestion on how to improve your work. As if I could give such advice! The only suggestion is perhaps to keep adding to your collection(s), and to keep sharing them when you do. How is that for a suggestion? LOL.
I saw this and wanted to check it out; I wish I had the discipline and understanding to participate in Habit Heroes. You, my friend, are an inspiration. It's all I can do to memorize Bible verses in English - you are doing it in a non-native language. You ROCK!
There was so much to look at, and I love your honesty and heart to want to do better. Thank you so much for sharing this, and I pray that you stay the course to the end. A wonderful read If I could give you a 10 rating, I would do so in a heartbeat.
I am so happy to hear this. My sister lost her battle with Multiple Myeloma back in 2021, and it was a bitter pill to swallow as she was so lively before.
I am glad you shared this, and are doing well. It is good to know that this cancer can be treated. I only wish my sister had gone to the doctor sooner.
Be well, and do take care of yourself!
Nicely done! I can see myself and my thoughts as I read your verses. Thank you always for the encouragement, even if my muse is in mortal danger of being fired! LOL. Your verses have a nice flow to them and it is easy to read and understand. Keep up the good work!
Got 8 out of 10. Haven't watched a Pixar Movie in a long time, so I had to guess on a couple...LOL.
Thanks for sharing. I really like puzzles and games, so this was right up my alley!
This is definitely a 5 PLUS for crossword puzzles. There were several answers that I knew, and lots of trivia that I didn't know and had to scramble to find answers. Many of these authors I've read, and there were a few that are new to me.
I love puzzles, and I thank you for advertising this one on the Newsfeed. Enjoy your GoT time! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for sharing - This is a review done for the "I Write 2024" Challenge.
Impression: This little dialogue cracked me up. It was very fast paced, and engaging.
Cool things: I love the way the "mountain man" freaked out over a little mouse. It was quite funny to me. I'm glad that they came to a compromise, and decided to stick it out.
Suggestion(s): This is just a little nitpicky, but if you could possible enlarge the font a little, or maybe put a space in between the different speakers, it might make it a bit easier to read. But other than that, I couldn't help but chuckle.
Final Thoughts: This might make a great prompt for a story.
Thank you for noticing my work, and allowing me to read/review your writing.
My First Impression:Indeed! The A-Team would have been proud of the endeavors to rescue this cake. I wonder if Buster was nick-named "Decker" after that.
My Favorite Part:The details were delightful to read, and the innovation actually made the cake better that what was the original. Thank goodness for the level-headed Marsha!
My Suggestions/Final Thoughts:I don't have any suggestions. I like that you had where it was written at the bottom of the piece. I also like the font size, as it made it easier to read! A wonderful memory, to be sure!
Thanks again for sharing! I very much enjoyed reading your work.
My First Impression:I started reading this in the Snail Mail Forum. I don't know that I ever saw him online here, as I joined up Aug of 2022. It sounds like he has been through quite the rollercoaster ride in life .
My Favorite Part:Your fond memories, especially of the Anniversary Review challenge that you would engage in with Angus. Perhaps we could do something like that in honor of Angus? Perhaps revive the challenge for a month, or so?
My Suggestions/Final Thoughts:
My heart goes out to him, and his family. I'd like to send him a card to wish him well, if that would be ok?
Anyway, I am glad that you shared, what must be some heartbreaking information. Bless you.
Thank you for sharing - This is a review done for the "I Write 2024" Challenge.
Impression: Fear is a powerful motivator. I've certainly not have had challenges like this, but I know well the fear of deadlines. I can appreciate your fear and doubts about overcoming obstacles, and also the fear of public speaking.
Cool things: That you can see both sides of the coin. You understood yourself and the challenges that you overcame. You put praise for your parents and their willingness to get you mobile while you were young. You also were willing to admit that you could have had more friends if you were only willing to give them a chance.
The gratefulness to your "muse" or "inspiration" as the deadline loomed, and that you were able to write your speech - that and not having to add to/modify your speech afterwards. Very cool, indeed.
Suggestion(s):I can only offer one suggestion, and that of maybe a little larger font size, as my eyes get tired easily reading small print.
Final Thoughts: I enjoyed reading your work, and I thought you nailed the prompt that you choose. I wish you well in the contest you've entered. Well done, in my opinion.
After reading your work, My impressions are these:
Wow, just Wow! I have never read Alice in Wonderland, and this project/competition seems way over my head. I think that this is an especially bold task. Kudos for putting it together and the pictures are stunning.
My Favorite Part(s)
I like how you explain the contest, and how you give clear rules for engaging. This page is quite the sight to behold.
Suggestions/Questions:
Maybe one day you will offer this contest again? Thank you for your incredible imagination and for sharing.
