COVID certainly disrupted people's plans for quite a while. I like your version of a "staycation".

My mom is an avid bird watcher. I like the descriptions of the different birds you describe. The funniest is the robin, with its fat red belly hopping around. I also like the majestic heron. I would say for me, a favorite is the pilated woodpecker. He is huge with a bright red crest. Have you seen one?

My First Impression:

The title and caption caught my eye, and made me want to read further. Ah, the joy/despair of oncoming puberty! The insane thoughts, the wonder of other other sex, and the fear of rejection.

My Favorite Part:

I had to chuckle at the seeming "make out" session, at least from the girl's point of view. Boys are boys no matter the age, it seems.

I liked the way you wrote this, with no capitals or punctuation. To me, it made it stand out.

My Suggestions/Final Thoughts:

I didn't see any grammar issues, outside of the "no punctuation" But it didn't take away from the overall production.

A tricky time in young men/women's lives, and I'm sure there will always be the thoughts and dreams that come along with the growing up. You write this with deliberation, and good taste, where it could have been crass or rude. Thank you for that.

Keep up the good work, and I appreciate your letting me share in your writing.

I enjoyed reading your poem.

My Favorite Part:

While I now enjoy broccoli as an adult. I wasn't a big fan of it as a kid. I like the way you made an acrostic poem out of the title and subject.

My Suggestions/Final Thoughts:

No suggestions that I could see. Have you tried a broccoli/cheddar soup? Also, cut the broccoli into small manageable bites. Maybe use some bacon w/ a bit of the fat to help flavor it. No harm, no foul if you cannot eat it still. Thank you for sharing.

You talk about fortune cookies and give some background about them.

My Favorite Part:

You describe the feelings of disappointment, both with the taste of the cookie, and how the "fortune" ruined your day. It was clear your feelings about these little cookies, and I appreciated your clarity. I feel as though they are given too much credence overall. I especially chuckled when you thought maybe if the cookie tasted better, you might give the fortune more weight.
