Speed Reading/reviewing- 1000 word story won't even take me five minutes to read, and you'll get a review within 10 minutes of me reading it. As it is, my reviews are usually around 300 Characters- minus my Review Sig. However, sometimes they'll reach the 1,000 Character mark. Depends on the Story/item. *Bigsmile*

I will not review...
Interactives that don't have an actual story started - Give me some meat to eat there before you ask me to look at it, with at least one thread being at least 10 chapters long, and not just choices that aren't even developed, preferably written by your own hand. Books - well, not through a Review Request page anyways, as I'd would have to review the book itself and not the Chapter, in order to get paid, but I will review them if you ask me in an email. Ah, the Second Amendment of the United States - the right to keep and bare arms - that is, weapons.

Now, as someone who comes from a long line of farmers and hunters - who use weapons as a means to place food on the table (that is by either placing it directly on the table - like deer - or by killing pests that ruin crops or predators that kill livestock), with more that a few of them also serving in the armed forces as well as law enforcement, I am going to say that your argument here is very weak.

Let's get down to the brass tacks - you say that the Second is a leftover placeholder from when we didn't have a standing military force, and now that we have one, we don't need the Second. Let's do a quick check - US Army - 1775 (as the Continental Army - reorganized in 1784 as the US Army officially), Second - 1791 - We've had the Army longer than we've had the Second. Heck, the Coast Guard, in the form of the Revenue Marine, also predates the Second - 1790 for them, by the way. That being said, the Navy was formally established in 1794 (Continental Navy having disbanded in 1785), and the Marine Corp was formed in 1898 (Continental Marines having disbanded in 1783).

Now, the Second covers all weapons (not just firearms as some might think). It also allows one to have weapons for self-defense purposes - this could apply to protection from hostile humans, or hostile wildlife. Also, a lot of things are weapons, or could be easily used as weapons - the knife used to cut food, the hammer for pounding nails, the baseball bat for Little League - and that's not including the hunting weaponry, that is things like Compound Bows and Crossbows, and Muzzleloaders.

As it is, your argument, which boils down to "We have the Army to protect us. We don't need weapons." is rather weak. I mean, what if you live out in the middle of nowhere, and let's suppose that some person has decided to come after you, planning to kill you. The problem with living out in the middle of nowhere is this - even with a 911 call, and the police coming to help you, it might take them 15-20 minutes to get there, and I'm not accounting for any traffic issues in a city, as even with the lights and such going, it could be a while. Now, you might be able to hide, but what if you can't, or they've already found you? Odds are, this person will have a weapon, and they will use it. So, how do you plan to fend them off? Now, perhaps you have the strength, skill, and capability to use some sort of unarmed fighting - you might be able to knock them out long enough to get away, or something. However, not everyone can rely on unarmed fighting as a viable option, and thus need something to even, or surpass, the odds - and that something is a weapon. This weapon could be a gun, or a knife, a hammer, a baseball bat, or a large selection of books, DVDs, movies, video games, full cans of food - anything that you can throw - or a broom that you could use to beat some sense into them.

So, keeping that in mind, do you really want to propose getting rid of the Second? Or, alternatively, are you going to do some more research, to show why the Second isn't needed, and strengthen the argument that you are fighting for? Something to think on.

Thoughts
I believe that more could be added to this. At the moment, this argument feels flat to me - I can easily prove the main aspects wrong with a quick Google Search. Impress me by putting in more effort - how are you going to persuade folks to your side when even a quick search disproves your big point? After all, we had a standing army years before the Second was ratified. Think about it.

Well, this is an interesting poem. To me, it feels like the narrator is at a point where they are suffering from a bout of depression, as they feel that they have no friends, and that they just want to get away from everything. That can hit hard in many ways, depending on the person, especially if they want it to end.

An interesting story. There's a war where dragons are trying to protect their homes from a group of invaders. It also looks like the war isn't going too well. One dragon, normally charged with looking after the young, is called to take part un the battle, despite their own issues. Can they make a difference in the fight?

Pride - is it good, or bad? With it, we can accomplish great things. Without it, we do nothing. Too much of it, and trouble is the result. Many have pride - the desire to do things. Sometimes it's a simple pleasure in being able to grow a decent-sized garden, as well as the frustration when it turns out that we bit off more than we could chew. The trick is to find a balance where we push ourselves, but not fall on our face.

A guantess finds you, and decides to stuff you someplace "safe". As for the current options, well, "safe" might be a relative term, because I can see how it becomes, "not so safe", in so many ways. There's plenty of possibilities. Still, there might be some more questions to ask.

This would be more for a Revised or Part 2 version, but I have questions, like, what kind of giantess is this - era, species, behavior - because it's possible that a pocket or a carrying case (or pouch) might be used, and that might be determined on how the giantess sees a tiny human - person, potential pet/slave, or as a bite-sized snack - as that could determine the type of case/pouch.

An interesting piece. A woman waits for the last train of the night. However, when she gets on, things become strange. Instead of seeing the usual trees and houses, she ends up seeing things and places from her past. Then, she ends up seeing the crowd at the destination, which is filled with those she hasn't seen in years and years.

Ah, a story from the point of view of a cat trying to live with their human. The various things that they, and this human, do together, as well as this cat's prior life before this human. Makes one chuckle as they read it, making them wonder what their own cat - or dog - might end up thinking about them. Very cute.

A high school play is being held, and plenty of openings are available, including background characters. A young lady and a young man both try, and end up getting parts where they are background dancers in a ball scene, and are each other's partners. After a while, things become interesting in the background, with the possibility of teen romance being in the air.

A writer, trying to find a way to write something, ends up turning to the assistance of Artificial Intelligence, in order to produce something. With the help of one program, they soon manage to put out something real good, and folks wonder how they pulled it off.

Thoughts
Now, to be fair, some will have an issue with the idea of works of art - of any sort - being made by AI, as they will feel that it takes away from the heart of making the work. So, that might be something to think on. But, an interesting read.

A woman trying to escape the crowds of city life finds herself in the park. While in the park, taking a moment to enjoy the quiet, she sees something strange. This something is a group of fairies. It seems that the fairies are responsible for setting up areas of calm, especially in areas of chaos. Makes one wonder what will happen later on.

A teddy bear, which belonged to a well-respected - if a bit odd - ship captain, falls overboard during a bad storm at sea. Somehow though, it comes to life, and tries to make it to the ship, only to end up on a strange island. Now the bear is trying to figure out what to do now. Will they make it back to the Captain? That's a very good question.

I had to look up what a Snegurochka was because of this - interesting. I wonder who was the inspiration - this Snow Maiden. Was it a friend, or a loved one? A metaphor for love, and eventually betrayal, and how it feels on both an instinctive level and on a cellular level. The feelings that one goes through, the ups and downs as love begins to form, with two becoming one, and the twists and turns as betrayal takes hold, with one becoming two again. A desperate message in a bottle mystery.

While walking along the beach, a man discovers a bottle, but not just any bottle, a bottle with a message. It's not just any message either. It seems that a police officer is stranded at an inn, across the bay, where some mysterious happenings are going on, and it's a matter of life and death. Makes one wonder what will happen..

Just the perfect thing to chuckle through, just prior to Thanksgiving. A woman tries to create the perfect Thanksgiving dinner for her family, including her arriving guests, except for one thing - the house is haunted by the ghost of a cook, who has to mess with things in the kitchen. Will the lady manage to come to an understanding with the ghost, or will things become ruined? Read to find out.
