I'm good at...
Speed Reading/reviewing- 1000 word story won't even take me five minutes to read, and you'll get a review within 10 minutes of me reading it. As it is, my reviews are usually around 300 Characters- minus my Review Sig. However, sometimes they'll reach the 1,000 Character mark. Depends on the Story/item. *Bigsmile*

I will not review...
Interactives that don't have an actual story started - Give me some meat to eat there before you ask me to look at it, with at least one thread being at least 10 chapters long, and not just choices that aren't even developed, preferably written by your own hand. Books - well, not through a Review Request page anyways, as I'd would have to review the book itself and not the Chapter, in order to get paid, but I will review them if you ask me in an email. Anything that doesn't allow reviews. *Bigsmile*

Reasons can vary, and can include, but are not limited to - lack of pay, hostile teammate/s, knowing no one due to changes in the rooster, being injured in such a way to prevent one from participating effectively, or there are other jobs that pay better. There are many reasons. The trick is picking the right one.

A story about why you should never judge a book by its cover. A young woman, who wants to find buried treasure, wakes up to discover that a UFO has crash-landed by her home. While exploring it, she gets knocked out. Coming to, she encounters aliens that seem nice, but have evil intentions. Thankfully, she gets rescued by another group that seems rude, but otherwise means well. Makes one think. I wonder if another will come.

You got a few sections that need correct punctuation, and in the first paragraph, the one sentence needs finished.

A cabin in the middle of the woods. A scene possibly for camping, or being alone. Or, it's a scene for a horror film, especially given the darkness in the area, as an old woman ends up having to confront a rather dark creature, that has come for her. Will she survive until the sun rises? Read to find out.

(Note to self - send this to my brother, who played football well into collage, until an injury, or two, caused him to quite for his own health.)

Football - it's as American as Apple pie (or so the story goes). Two teams doing battle over the pigskin as they try to score points. However, injuries happen at all levels, and what happens to the players? This is an important question, especially if the player is a member of the Army or Navy, or another military academy based football team (or sports team in general). What happens to them, given that their education/employment is paid via taxpayers' money?

Growing up - never easy, the transition from child to adult. It's not easy to move from one who has once been cared for, but now has to do the caring. Some don't seem to grow up, and then there's those who grow up too fast. This can feel even worse, if there is no one to guide them, even if from afar.

(Oh - a rare double-poem poem written by two authors, who each have their own copy of said poem. I will need to post duplicate reviews - I hope that both enjoy.)

Ah, thoughts on a moonlight night. Listening to the wildlife, wondering their thoughts. The sight of a balloon in front of the moon - sorrow for the child that lost it, or the joy from seeing it float free in the wind. There are many thoughts to be had. There's plenty to think on, in all things.

Ah, to be an artist - when you get discovered, money just gets printed for you. Fame comes, as does the benefits. Sadly, it is not easy. Not all get discovered by the right folks. Plenty seem to stick to small sections, where they are only known to a select few, and must work to put their daily bread on the table. However, many still have that artist side inside of them.

A woman arrives home, planning to get ready for her date, only to notice that her neighbor has some sort of leak going on. Entering the unit to try to help said neighbor, she ends up seeing an unknown man doing their best to try to help the owner of the unit out. After dealing with the craziness that was happening - including saving some pet fish, the woman finds a rather pleasant surprise - the identity of her date.

A hitman, having pulled off a job, is on their way to their safe house. They plan to leave the country, for a while. Seems that they'd been hired to kill someone, and having done the job, are now trying to stay a few steps ahead of the law. Problem for them is this - there's always someone better, and smarter.

A gunman shows up, and it seems he wants to make a name for himself, and rack up the body-count. Will the two friends make it through this horror, or will they be among the fallen?

Review of The Clotilda  Open in new Window.

This poem is about the slave ship Clotilda, the last know slave ship to deliver African Slaves to the United States of America during the late 1850's and into the year 1860, when it was eventually destroyed. Bu that time, the importation of slaves from Africa had been illegal for several decades, but still survived via smuggling. Not too long after this ship was destroyed, the United States had its Civil War. Makes one think.

Thoughts
I actually had to look up this ship to get an understanding of its importance. Interesting.

Ah, the ocean. There is nothing quite like being on it. All that water around you, as your boat bobs up and down. Depending upon the weather, more could be happening, or not much at all. Sometimes you see amazing animals, and sometimes you merely see the weather. There is nothing like it.

A timer - just before it reaches 10:00, a button is pressed, resetting it to 0:00. This has happened countless times, as a traveler makes their way along the dunes, trying to climb them, in order to see past them - always pressing the timer. Why they do this, is unknown, even to them. Makes one wonder what happened to make them do this.

Singing, school activities, and the desire for our parents to come and see us perform. Never got into singing myself, but there was a time that I got into wrestling and soccer for a brief while, and my little brother just loved football and many other sports. Winning or losing didn't matter as much as seeing our folks watching and cheering us on. That was what we wanted.

Things seem to change. Christmas and other similar holidays becoming Modern, especially when folks live far away. However, there's still some things that don't change.

My uncle - wearing a Santa hat, and passing out gifts. Chocolate-covered cherries - grandpa's favorite treat - one of those, in memory of him. Parents gathered around, watching children play with new toys. Grandma saying a prayer, blessing those there, and asking God to watch out for them that aren't. Then, there's the food.

Then, there's the little miracles, like Great Aunt coming to visit - she and Grandma patching things up after over twenty years of low to no contact with each other. Likewise, there's me, giving my brother's girlfriend a blanket she'll enjoy, and toys that my step-nieces and nephews will enjoy.

The love of the ocean, or of any place fondly remembered from when we lived near it. Sometimes we can stay there for our lives, but then there are times that we must leave. Sometimes fate can bring us back to it, but other times, we can never return. Fate can be funny this way, especially when we look back into our pasts, to think about the places that we loved.

Ah, an ice cream cone. Usually a Summer treat, not to be had in Winter - most such stands not open then. And yet, somehow, one place was indeed open, and serving this cold delectable. Only, it seems, it still has a problem - it's beginning to melt! Better eat it up quick! Uh, oh! Brain freeze!

Ah, the giving of advice, only for it to be ignored. Sometimes the listener is headstrong, and doesn't care about doubt. Sometimes the advice seems too critical, and folks aren't always fans of criticism. Many times though, folks end up learning the hard way that there is the occasional point to unliked advice.

Peace - something that all want, yet it can be hard to achieve. There are those, who might want it, fighting those who might also want it, but for one reason or another, cannot have it, officially. Hence, they might instead have a Truce - a time of breathing - during the midst of the fighting. While some might ask God for help, asking for a miracle, in many cases, it might be best for one to start it themselves, if only to get it rolling.
