If you are just starting, then this is great. Your rhyme pattern is fairly consistent, and your meter starts off nicely. It was difficult to tell if you were attempting a regular meter or not, because your meter varies greatly towards the end of the poem.
One other note: Things... that, people... who, choices... which. This is not overly an issue, but be aware when you self-edit of your tendency to stray.
Keep writing! Practice makes perfect- right? At the least, it develops your own personal style!
I can appreciate this article, but I know, that sometimes, I do have work posted with minor errors. Most of it is dyslexia, so I won't catch it until someone points it out to me, but when I have the time, I do copy it on to a Word document in an attempt to catch it with spell check. I do, however, return to correct any errors which are brought to my attention.
That is my suggestion for anyone with consistent spelling and grammar errors. If you have time, spell check your writing as a Word document prior to posting the article. (The green indicates a grammatical error. You can right click for suggestions!)
